BYD is a Chinese company producing batteries and electric cars. BYD is working car manufacturers such as Daimler, Ford and Toyota.

BYD produces LFP batteries. The first generation had an energy density of 160 Wh/kg and charging speed of 3C. BYD announced that second generation will reach 210 Wh/kg, a charging speed of 8C and will be able to sustain 5.000 cycle before losing significant (exact figures not communicatd) capacity . BYD also announed that generatio 2 will be 15% to 20% cheaper (per weight) to produce than the first generation.
